January 2009
5:00pm on NYE and I’ve already done a bike race and gotten a little tipsy. I think a nap might be in order.
Cyclocross racing? Fun. Stopping for a cupcake on every lap? Priceless.
Makin’ some Pasta E Fagioli. If this doesn’t result in a nap, I don’t know what will.
December 2008
After race beers ftw.
CP24 story on cyclocross provincials: http://bit.ly/846r. I didn’t make it into the clip, but my teammates (blue+orange) are in there lots!
With all these new hashtags from my tweeps I feel like a get together is necessary just to have them all explained to me!
Back in the T-dizzle. FINALLY. Drivers on the hwy tonight were INSANE. Got passed by a BMW (in dense traffic) going so fast my car shook .
Time to go finish unpacking and hit the hay.
If anyone wants to come watch me race my bike while drinking, there’s a cyclocross race happening at South Humber Park @ 12:30pm.
Up and at them. Final morning in Montreal.
Waitng for l’autobus in Montreal. Headed back to Ottawa for the afternoon. Anxious to get back to Toronto.
Just watched Michael Clayton from the hotel DVD library - free popcorn included. Good times.
Anyone want to start climbing regularly indoors in TO through the Winter? Thinking it might be some fun off-season conditioning.
Keeping an eye out for used/new Kreitler rollers. Looking forward to riding! Hoping the roads/weather cooperate to let me start base miles.
It’s December yet so far on this trip I’ve bought both shorts and shants, but no full pants. Need summer!
OH: “Do you think that man lives alone? The only things I heard him talk about were his cats & his Mom.”
Shopping at Simons. Tired already. I’m not made for clothes shopping.
Guy at the next table over has been telling really inane stories about his cats for 15 minutes. #shutup
Have they EVER changed the music for the local weather forecast on The Weather Network?
Just spoke to the service guys at Citiwest VW. Sounded somewhat promising that they could fix my car in the next couple days. *crossfingers*
Tasty hotel breakfast done. Complimentary espresso ftw. Heading out to do Le Shopping. I’m so français! :P
Also: left my newish Sorels in the trunk of the taxi. #boo Not to mention having to guide the driver using my iPhone. ‘Twas like a tv advert
Checked into our sweet hotel in Montreal. Now chillaxin before meeting a friend for dinner this eve.
Heading out to dinner with Dave at Buvette Chez Simone. Pretty tired, but kicking my own ass into gear.
On *the bus* heading to Montreal. Left the car at a dealer in Ottawa. Fingers crossed they can fix it asap. :S
My guess on the car: serpentine belt or pulley. Screeching. Eventually got battery warning. Then power steering went. Then car overheated.
I’m with @fuzzz: SO over cars. Just had to leave mine in a parking lot. Unsure how we’re getting to MTL now. Bus v. train.
Hilarious example of the writing at a new favorite cycling blog: http://bit.ly/77oy. If you know me, you know how appropos it is. :P
Having one of those “I should have stayed home” kind of trips.
Every VW garage either closed or booked up into the New Year. Le sigh.
Slowly catching up with Google Reader.
So much rich food! Looking forward to getting started with training again. Bleah.
Twitter API rate limit exceeded. Only have 1 client running. Weird.
2nd full day with the inlaws et al. Just sayin’. :)
Ritchey Breakaway cross on Canadian Cyclist classifieds.
So full and lethargic. Christmas = laziness! New books. Lots of food. Winter. Zzz.
This bed has 11 pillows. I don’t get it.
Woah. I Love Katamari is out for the iPhone?
Finally here. Driving is for chumps.
Stopped for lunch in Bellville.
Heading out to run a few last errands.
Created an account on shelfari this afternoon and already received a spammy note. Oy. (*switches notes to ‘friends-only’*)
To top it off, I ripped the plastic cover thingy off the bottom of the car’s engine in deep snow in a parking lot. *sigh*
twitter plane crash = holy carp:http://bit.ly/Btgv
Really should have just stated at home today. Traffic is insane. Stores are blocked. People are assholes.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: setting your Twitter account to private is akin to setting your blog to private. I don’t get it.
Picking up Utopia when we pop back out to pick up our laundry. Food makes everything okay. *dreamy sigh*
Anyone using the (newest) Apple wireless keyboard? Need a new one, but tired of dealing with batteries. Might just go wired.
D’oh. I thought full eps of e2 were on the PBS website once it had aired, but apparently not. I don’t have PBSHD! http://bit.ly/abEl
