November 2008
Time to celebrate the end of my first full season of bike racing.
Completely destroyed from the race today. So hungry, but can’t figure out what to have. ugh.
Off to the last CX race of the season. Racing at 1:00 under Old Mill station.
NOW I’m ready for the race tomorrow: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wes/3069104663/
heheheh.. cats + catnip = good times.
Off to pick up my skis/boots, then to brunch + bake-a-thon with @fuzzz/@sweetmonimons/etc.
Headset in my SS CX is feeling a little ‘sticky’. Just hauled it apart. Surprised at how much water was inside the HT from washing ystrdy.
Off to rock practice.
Woot! Ski trip to Tremblant in January with @fuzzz/@flashlight/@astroboy is GO!
Anyone going to the Tweetup at C’est What tonight?
Also: clearly my AFT effort didn’t work very well because I was away for what, 15 minutes?
ps. that clearly should have been AFT, not AWT. :)
“colonmadness is now following you on twitter”
New/old-school acronym: AWT. Away From Twitter. Like AFK. As in, “AWT because I seriously need to get some shit done.” Kinda like now.
RT @ryanmcminn: my friend Anton just launched http://favreel.com muxtapes for music videos!…shhh don’t tell MTV
caffeine catch 22: in order to have the brain power to make coffee, I need coffee in my system. I poured whole beans into my coffee press.
Being home all day yesterday virtually guaranteed this: “2008/11/28 - 07:47 - MISSISSAUGA, ON - Item out for delivery”. Nobody home today.
LOL! ReTweeting @mkuplens: Welcome to today’s *WTF!?* http://tinyurl.com/5ecfj6
Heading out to pick up @fuzzz and go finish getting my ski gear ready. Still have to get new boots.
Me so tired. Took a ‘mental health day’ and spent the whole day doing ‘chores’… cleaning the apt, cleaning bikes, organizing bike stuff.
Retweeting @emenel: turkey fun: http://tinyurl.com/6g3k3b
I want turkey so bad my teeth hurt.
All this thanksgiving talk is killing me. I want turkey and a holiday!
RT @feather: RT @todmaffin: #Twitter will no longer send SMS updates to Canadian users: http://tinyurl.com/5bc73l
I think perhaps display: block; is making the A element ‘greedy’ and taking up as much space as it can. Time to experiment.
Setting max-width: 79px; for these A elements (display: block;) seems to just be making them width: 79px; in Firefox. hmmm.
It’s about fscking time: “International item released from Customs for processing by Canada Post”
Trying out a new iPhone Twitter client that @emenel mentioned.
No other css display option (eg. ‘table-cell’) seems to fix the greediness w/ max-width in FF. I don’t want to set a width for each one.
Hooray for having a spare cable at work for when I forget to recharge my iDingdongs.
/me kicks Canada Customs square in the balzac.
I’m surprised at how many web sites are using a Lucida Sans fontface that looks like ass in Firefox.
If I hadn’t really, really wanted to get a ride in tonight I might complain that I just rode for an hour in wet, slushy flurries.
I think I’m gonna go for a little ride if anyone is watching/interested.
RT @panasonicyouth: Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend covering Blitz/Descendents with Fucked Up: http://tinyurl.com/58zlzl Seriously good!
Not sure whether I should go for a spin now, on my commuter and in regular clothes. Or later, after I’ve been home. Home = laziness.
Sleepy time! RT @astroboy: Shots like this are a good part of why I like cyclocross. http://www.flickr.com/photos/syncros/3058105646/
My Morning Jacket is one of those bands that everyone seems to love that makes me think, “Really?”
My legs still feel fairly useless. I think I’m going to go for a spin for an hour or so after work to try and wake them up.
“yummy, greasy, salty, meaty, artery-clogging, deliciously gluttonous gut-raping excess.” http://is.gd/8Y1y
Crappy butter chicken from around the corner did not satisfy my curry/roti craving. Queue @adactio: http://sadtrombone.com/
Handmade, custom geometry, Canadian steel (Columbus Zona/Spirit) vs. handmade, custom, USA Scandium for 2x the cost. Seems obvious, but…
I just got myself all worked up to go on a roti mission on my bike at lunch, but remembered I don’t have a lock with me. Damnit!
Clearly if I don’t bring my full goretex suit of armor, I’ve doomed everyone to a rainy commute. Soggy jeans FTL.
Really not looking forward to running errands tonight. Just want to hole up with some tv and/or video games.
Darkness + rain = absolutely psychotic drivers, apparently. It only makes sense. I just witnessed no less than 3 totally insane situations.
